Privacy Policy
Your trust matters here. This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, how it is used and protected, and the choices you have.
Who We Are
Moses Robinson: Law Enforcement & Safety Consulting LLC ("Moses Robinson Consulting," "we," "us," or "our") provides public safety training, security consulting, and community partnership services based in Rochester, New York. ROC Community Readiness is an initiative of the same company. This policy applies to this website and to information you share with us through it.
Questions about this policy can go to moses@mosesrobinsonconsulting.com.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form, we collect what you choose to enter: your first and last name, email address, phone number, organization, role, the type of request, organization type, your timeframe, the services you are interested in, and your message. If you join the newsletter, we collect your email address. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you include.
Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, our hosting and security providers automatically receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page you requested, and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.
Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in total, such as which pages are viewed, which website sent you here, your browser and device type, and your country. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you across other websites. We use these totals only to understand which parts of the site are helpful.
What we do not collect. We do not use advertising trackers, cross-site tracking, or analytics that build a profile of you. We do not ask for payment information on this website.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your request and follow up about trainings, assessments, consulting, speaking, or ROC Community Readiness.
- Prepare proposals, schedule services, and communicate about an engagement.
- Send the newsletter, only if you signed up for it.
- Operate, secure, and improve this website.
- Meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations, and protect our rights and the safety of others.
Sending the contact form does not add you to the newsletter.
The Newsletter
If you subscribe, you will receive occasional emails about upcoming trainings, events, community initiatives, and safety resources. We expect to send only a few each year. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time by email. We never sell or rent the list.
Cookies and Embedded Content
This website. The site itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Our website platform and security providers may use a small number of strictly necessary cookies, or similar storage in your browser, to keep the site working, protect it from abuse, and send the contact and newsletter forms securely.
Videos. YouTube videos on this site use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and do not load until you press play. Once you play one, YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy. News station videos stream from the station’s own video provider when you play them.
Fonts. Our fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address so it can send the font files to your browser.
Your controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because we do not track visitors across other websites, the site does not change how it works when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Our visit statistics use no cookies. If we ever add other analytics or non-essential cookies, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only in these limited cases:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the website and our business, such as our website platform and form and contact management tool (Wix), our hosting, security, content delivery, and visit statistics provider (Cloudflare), and our email provider. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- With your direction. If you ask us to coordinate with a host organization, school, venue, or partner for a training or event, we share what is needed to arrange it.
- Legal reasons. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
- Business changes. If the business is reorganized, merged, or sold, information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.
Please Do Not Send Sensitive Details
This website is not for emergencies. If someone is in danger, call 911.
Please keep your first message general. Do not use the contact form to send confidential details about an active incident, an investigation, a student, a victim, a patient, or anyone’s health, criminal, or financial records. Once we are working together, we can agree on a secure way to share sensitive information.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep contact requests and related messages for as long as needed to respond, provide services, and maintain business records, generally no longer than three years after our last contact unless an engagement or the law requires longer. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, consistent with New York’s SHIELD Act. Data sent through the site is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as New York law requires.
Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal or business recordkeeping reasons.
- Stop sending you newsletter emails.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within a reasonable time, and within any time limit the law sets. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s law, and we will honor them.
Children’s Privacy
Although our school safety work serves students, this website is meant for adults: educators, administrators, organizations, and community members. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to news articles, videos, social media profiles, and partner organizations. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them. We encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
